300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE–REVIEW
almost a carbon copy of the original, but since so much time has passed, it felt new again. the same surreal cinematography in its dream-like hues of red and blue and gold coupled with a pulsating techno rock undertow that heightens nearly every scene made for a rousing bloodfest.
300:ROE might have lost some of its visceral punch since the original, esp. in the wake of the SPARTACUS TV show, but it still delivers the goods. STRIKE BACKS Sullivan Stapleton is a suitable stand in and replacement for Gerard Butler and Eva Green is notable by how badass she can be cuz lets be honest, all she did was stand around looking sullen in CASINO ROYALE.
my grading scale is as follows: 1 STAR–IWANTMY2HRSBACK, 2 STARS–MEH, 3 STARS–KEWL BEANS, 4 STARS–SHIBBY & 5 STARS–AWESOMESAUCE!
overall, 300:ROE rates a SHIBBY cuz i saw it in 3D. i usually dont go for 3D unless its some epic badassery going down and this warranted it. so, there ya go.
